pp24132When my kitchen is quiet (rarely) I can hear the water boiling on the stove top from across the room. More often than not I hear it when begins to boil over onto the burner. There is an advantage to having a stainless steel cookware set with glass lids.

Even visibly looking into the oven to see if the casserole is bubbling is easier when I don’t have to open the door and lift the lid. I love to smell what’s cooking but that always draws me to inspect it visually. The watched pot may never boil, but I’ll still be watching.

35351My friends love to talk about their tomato sauce recipes. When starting from scratch they tell me it helps to have several stainless steel stock pots on hand. One for blanching the tomatoes, one for cooking them down and one for the mountain of pasta they’ll need to let everyone have a taste.

Whether they’re taking tomatoes from their gardens for sauce, or fresh vegtables for soup the stock pots have to be stainless steel. After all that hard work, let the dishwasher clean up.

Cooking, Cleaning and Stainless Steel Cookware

stainless steel cookwareI can remember growing up amidst a large family and for a time in the kitchen of a family run restaurant amazed at the amount of work before and after every meal. Stainless steel was a term I was all too familiar with before I was a teenager. Being the chosen one to dry and put away the pots, pans and utensils, I quickly recognized the difference because the stainless steel cookware set always had that looking like new appearance compared to the others that were discolored and just didn’t look as clean.

When we’ve worked hard at creating a meal to be remembered, it can be inspiring to see the cookware being hung neatly on the rack or stacked in the cabinet glistening. Although we’re tired both from the labor and a full belly, it’s inviting to consider what we’ll create next. It is equally satisfying to know that when we’re done the kitchen, and the cookware will be clean again.
