37432Knowing how important a wok is to stir frying we mustn’t forget that without the stir fry kitchen utensils we only have half the tools for the job. The shape and design of the spatula is intended to match the shape and design of the wok. Making sure that the entire area is easily reached to keep the food mixing.

37465Sometimes in the heat of the kitchen, finding things is our most frustrating experience. When the spices aren’t in the spice rack, when the pots and pans aren’t hanging or when the cooking utensils aren’t easily on hand, food gets burned and so do we.

Sometimes a variety of storage options makes the likelihood of having to hunt for the right cooking utensil a rarity. If we have hanging racks, a cup holder and a drawer dedicated to storing our cooking utensils, we almost guarantee what we need will be on hand.

39527Food preparation doesn’t have to be mundane or boring when we can spice up even the aspect of slicing and dicing. When we’re chopping vegetables on a colorful glass cutting board the rewards aren’t just limited to the bacteria resistance of the tempered glass. Bright exciting colors enhance our work experience and make the job more enjoyable.

If we employ a lot of kitchen helpers it might be handy to have more than one of these beauties available. Twice as much work in half the amount of time always makes my cooking experience more enjoyable.

31913Honoring the need for plastic spatulas in non stick cookware is essential to extending the life of the finish. Likewise stirring in non stick pots requires a plastic spoon or ladle. Sometimes my choices for kitchen utensils is limited by their application regarding cookware and other times regarding the food I’m preparing.

I have favorite spoons for serving, and specific spatulas for grilling sandwiches or flipping eggs. If I’m whisking a sauce in a stainless steel frying pan I’ll always have a soft spatula on hand to work the sauce off the sides. Half the battle of choosing the right kitchen utensils is having them in the first place.

39527Before the end of any food prep even the most careful cook can forget something. If we know about bacteria and the dangers of moving from foods that will be cooked to those that will be served raw, we know that washing our knives and cutting boards is essential to cooking hygiene.

To save time and washing in between slicing and chopping we can move from the salad items to meats without missing a beat. However if we remember we didn’t slice the olives, or we need to chop more carrots, having a glass cutting board makes that process easier. They resist bacteria and clean up easily which gives us peace of mind.

pp2440I’ve thrown away more dull knives and spatulas with broken handles than I can remember. When kitchen utensils don’t perform the way we expect our work becomes less enjoyable and our creativity suffers. We want the right tools to do the job each and every time.

While variety is necessary in that we can’t use the same great utensil for every job, the quality of those utensils we use can’t be compromised. From the grip that won’t slip, to the perfect slice and dice we need to have confidence that our kitchen utensils won’t let us down.

397771I have a habit of using ordinary silverware when I’m grilling. Make no mistake, I own the barbeque tools that I need, and eventually end up using them as well. For some reason I just grab the first thing I can only to discover how hot the grill really is.

The right tools will always keep my hands away from the heat. Whether I’m brushing marinade on vegetables, or flipping burgers I definately want the added reach. A nice handle can enhance the experience of working over an open flame or hot coals.
