Honoring the need for plastic spatulas in non stick cookware is essential to extending the life of the finish. Likewise stirring in non stick pots requires a plastic spoon or ladle. Sometimes my choices for kitchen utensils is limited by their application regarding cookware and other times regarding the food I’m preparing.
I have favorite spoons for serving, and specific spatulas for grilling sandwiches or flipping eggs. If I’m whisking a sauce in a stainless steel frying pan I’ll always have a soft spatula on hand to work the sauce off the sides. Half the battle of choosing the right kitchen utensils is having them in the first place.
